Transjakarta-Goodyear Collaborates to Achieve Customer Safety and Comfort

PT Transportation Jakarta (Transjakarta) together with PT Goodyear Indonesia Tbk, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

Hopefully, this collaboration can be established well

PT Transjakarta President Director, Welfizon Yuza said this memorandum of understanding was the beginning of Transjakarta's collaboration with Goodyear in order to prioritize customer safety and comfort through a program that focuses on bus tire maintenance.

"It is very important for us to ensure that each rotating tire unit meets safety and comfort requirements. Because this will greatly affect timeliness and efficiency," he expressed, Wednesday (12/20).

He asserted there should be no bus not operating, because of a damaged tire or breaking down or an accident occurring because of the tire. There are currently 4,504 Transjakarta buses serving 1.1 million customers every day.

High daily mileage reduces tire life quickly. That's why, a comprehensive tire maintenance and diagnostic system is needed to support the efficiency and quality of transportation services.

"Hopefully, this collaboration can be established well, producing profits and benefits for both companies," he explained.

PT Goodyear Indonesia Tbk President Director, Iman Santoso felt happy because he could participate in supporting Transjakarta operations from another perspective. This collaboration was established thanks to a shared vision to improve the safety factors of Transjakarta bus drivers and passengers.

"This cooperation in city buses is new for us, because the use of tires for buses between provinces and cities is different," he explained.

Based on survey results, tire maintenance costs absorb approximately 30 percent of vehicle maintenance costs. Thus, tire management capabilities will provide maximum benefits to management in developing the quality of fleet operations.

"We hope that what we provide can improve the quality of Transjakarta comfort and safety," he stated.
